1904 KEVII issue 2½d ultramarine overprinted ‘SPECIMEN’ (Samuel type GB16) in black. Superb fresh unmounted mint. SG 69s var
Note: identical SPECIMEN overprints on the ½d and 2½d duties were offered as lot 1163 in the John Inglefield-Watson sale (Oct, 2007) and were stated to emanate from the National Postal Museum Archives auction held in 1984. This stamp presumably shares the same provenance.
