POSTAL HISTORY
AB4083
1907 (1st August), KEVII 2d+1d chestnut registered postal stationery envelope surcharged ‘DUTY 4d’ (size G, H&G 8b / BBS RE28). Addressed to Brazil in the distinctive hand of W. Harbor, bearing two KEVII 2½d ultramarine (SG 69) tied by a MOCHUDI / B.B. (1 Aug) single circle datestamp. The registration number ‘R6’ has been recorded in manuscript. Registered Cape Town (14 Aug) transit and two Brazilian transit / arrival backstamps, one dated (9 Aug, presumably in error) and the other (13 Sep). A scarce destination and a fine example of a double weight letter to a foreign destination.
