1914 (4th May), complete Gold Bullion Parcel Label (Union of South Africa) bearing an array of adhesives totalling £1.8s.10d, comprising: British Bechuanaland QV Unappropriated Dies 2/-, 2/6 (x2), 5/- (x4) used together with Protectorate 2d (x2, affixed on the address side) 6d Jubilee and a KEVII 1/- green and carmine (SG 16, 17, 18, 62, 65, 71). All are tied by FRANCISTOWN / BECHD PROTEC (4 May) single circle datestamps. The address side reads ‘African Banking Corpn. / Bulawayo’ and the description of contents is given as ‘One gold bar’ and the sender as ‘Tati Company Ltd / Francistown’. A few faults as to be expected including one 5/- with slightly rounded corner. A very rare and spectacular franking showing genuine high face value usage.
