| 1913 (19th June), registered envelope addressed to ‘Benedict Prieth’ in the USA. Bearing a single KEVII 1/- deep green and scarlet (SG 70) tied by a large LOBATSI / S A (19 Jun) single circle relief type datestamp with a further strike on the reverse. With Lobatsi registration cachet struck in blue at upper left and a large ‘REGISTERED’ handstamp, probably applied by the sender. New York (13 Jul) transit and Newark (14 Jul) arrival backstamps. Mount marks on reverse, otherwise very fine. Philatelically inspired, though a scarce stamp on cover and a very rare datestamp. |
