Postal Stationery BBS PCE(13), c1907 Great Britain KEVII ½d dull green on buff postal stationery card overprinted with square sans-serif capital letters. Very fine unused. Extremely rare (Thy and Inglefield-Watson recorded one example in 2004 with three currently recorded).
Note: this overprint is similar to that on BBS PC15. However, it lacks the line ‘THE ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE’ that appears below ‘POST CARD’ on PC15. Although described as an essay by Peter Thy and John Inglefield-Watson in ‘The Postal Stationery of the Bechuanalands and Botswana’, an example has been recorded genuinely used at Tsessebe in April 1913, suggesting some of these cards were included in a delivery to the Protectorate.
