1933 KGV 3/- black on red Field Marshal Booklet. COMPLETE with two intact panes each of the ½d, 1d and 1½d. With an accompanying note 'These 1½d stamps are really valuable on account of the perforation', signed “H E Ward”, whose initials appear on the cover. Exceptionally rare, especially in such superb uncreased condition. SG SB3
Note: very few complete booklets exist. SG state in a footnote below SG SB3: "the 1½d postage rate was reduced to 1d. eight weeks after No. SB3 was issued. Postal officials were instructed to detach the 1½d panes and use them for other purposes. The remaining stocks of the booklet were then sold for 1s6d." |
