| 1930 KGV Field Marshal issue. COLOUR TRIAL of the £20 revenue duty, printed in close to issued colours with an orange-brown vignette and deep brown-ochre frame. The stamp is imperforate with an upper margin by which it has been affixed to a gilt-edged presentation card (63x104mm). Endorsed at top in ink “First proof preferred. / Yellow surround / however should be as / heavy as previous issue / [initials] 6/8/30”. Also numbered “2” at left. With printed label at base ‘ENGRAVED & PRINTED BY BRADBURY WILKINSON & CO LTD / NEW MALDEN SURREY.’ Superb and most attractive. Rare. |
