1944 (24th November), WWII East Africa Forces envelope sent registered airmail to South Africa. Bearing KUT KGVI 1/- (SG 145), South Africa ½d ‘Small Wars’ triplet (SG 97) and a Bechuanaland KGVI 1d (SG 119) all tied by A.P.O.–U–M.P.K. / 35 (24 Nov) double circle datestamps of the Union Defence Forces. With a boxed ‘S.A.A.P.O 35 registration cachet, a crowned shield-type ‘PASSED / CENSOR / No / 8181’ and a small circular ‘DEPUTY CHIEF FIIELD / CENSOR cachet, all struck in violet. Backstamped with different A.P.O.–U–M.P.K. datestamps. Philatelically inspired, though most unusual.
