1888 Cape of Good Hope ½d grey-black overprinted ‘Bechuanaland / Protectorate’ in green. With variety OVERPRINT TRANSPOSED. Fine used with RAMOUTSA (OC 13 / 91) single circle datestamp. Believed to be unique, being the only recorded used example. Three mint examples are known, one being in the Botswana Post archive. RPS certificate (1969, for SG 57c). A major Bechuanaland rarity.
