1886 ½d grey-black overprinted ‘British Bechuanaland’ in black. Showing the variety NO DOT TO FIRST ‘i’ of ‘British’ which is unlisted on this stamp (a minute dot is visible under magnification). Very rare with three examples recorded, one of which is in the Botswana Postal Archives. Very fine and fresh mint. Ex Brian Hurst collection. SG 4 var
Note: original research by Brian Hurst suggests the variety on this stamp probably occurs on a different position of the setting to those listed by SG on other duties.
