1886 Cape 1d rose-red overprinted ‘British Bechuanaland’ in black. HORIZONTAL PAIR, each showing the variety OVERPRINT DOUBLE. Very fine used, tied to small piece by a complete ‘534’ Barred Oval Numeral Cancellation of Kuruman. An extremely rare, probably unique multiple. PFSA certificate (1988). SG 5c
Note: The Bechuanaland & Botswana Society recorded 11 examples of this variety, of which 3 are in museums. All are used and most show use at Kuruman.
