| 1890 (10th April), envelope addressed to Port Elizabeth. Bearing a single example of the ‘2d.’ surcharge in red on unappropriated die 2d lilac and black (SG 23) tied by a SETLAGOLI / BECHUANALAND (10 Apr) single circle datestamp with a second strike alongside. Kimberley (12 Apr) transit and Port Elizabeth (14 Apr) arrival backstamps. A few edge faults though a rare example showing usage of this provisional, especially as a single franking used with scarce datestamps. |
