| 1939 (9th December), envelope addressed and sent registered to Johannesburg. Bearing 6d in postage comprising KGV overprinted ½d and 1d pair, 1932 definitive ½d and 1d and 1935 Jubilee 1d all tied by GABERONES VILLAGE (9 Dec) double circle datestamps. For some reason the 1937 Coronation 1d affixed at lower left is tied by a GABERONES STA (9 Dec) datestamp with an additional strike on the reverse. (SG 91, 92, 99, 100, 111, 115). With manuscript ‘Gaberones Village’ registration name and number in red manuscript. The reverse with a tête-bêche pair of South Africa 1939 Christmas labels. |
