A remarkable and exhaustive work detailing the photographs taken for King George V and Queen Mary by Willian and Daniel Downey prior to their trip to India in 1905, detailing all aspects of including use on plates, mugs, postcards etc. But more importantly, a detailed analysis of how the two photographs were ultilzed for the engraving onto the plates for the production of the Double Head issue.
