| 1890 (10th September), ‘Tamsen’ envelope addressed to the Transvaal bearing a single ‘Protectorate / Fourpence’ surcharge on ½d vermilion (SG 53, with 6mm spacing) tied by a MOLEPOLOLE BECHUANALAND (SP 9) single circle datestamp. With a MAFEKING (SP 11) transit datestamp struck on the front and backstamped with Fourteen Streams (SP 13) and Pretoria (SP 15) transit datestamps. Very fine. A scarce and attractive franking. |
