1895 (12th August), Great Britain QV 1d dull scarlet postal stationery card surcharged ‘THREE / HALF PENCE’ (B&BS PC12 / H&G 8). Sent by the postmaster of Vryburg to the ‘Imperial German Administrator of Posts’ in Germany. The imprinted stamp is cancelled with a VRYBURG (AU 12) single circle datestamp. Some light creasing at left, otherwise fine. A scarce card correctly used.
 
Note: the interesting message reads: “Dear Sir, Your card dated 16th January [!] received. Please send me money order for 7s/5d at once as annexation to the Cape Colony will soon have effect & Bechuanaland stamps will no longer be issued – I have so many applications that I am sorry I cannot send the stamps first & then get the money order ! Stamps in issue ½d 1d 2d 4d 6d 1/- 2/- 2/6 x stamps 6s/7½ postage & registration 9d = 7s/4½d J.E. Symons Postmaster”.
