1966 QEII ½d Birds definitive, wmk. Crown CA sideways. Complete sheet of 60, showing 'THOMAS DE LA RUE & COMPANY' imprint and plates '2 1', running sheet '051' in margin. Further the 'H' (row 2/2), 'shoulder' (row 8/4) flaws and substituted cliche (row 12/4) and 'weak entry' (row 12/5). An early stage of the plate crack that affects the lower margin below stamp 12/2. Minor marginal faults, superb unmounted. A most unusual survivor. SG 227, 227a and vars. (Heijtz 123c, v1, v2, v3, v4)
