| 1893 Cape 1d carmine-red with overprint reading downwards. BLOCK OF FOUR, the lower left stamp showing the variety 's' COMPLETELY OMITTED in ‘British’ [Row 10/4]. Fresh mint with hinge remnants on the upper pair, the lower pair, including the variety is unmounted. A very rare variety, especially with the letter entirely failing to print.
