| 1893 Cape 1d carmine-red with overprint reading downwards. An upper marginal horizontal STRIP OF THREE from the right-hand pane [Row 1 / stamps 3-5] the left stamp showing the variety INVERTED ‘u’ FOR 2nd 'n' and the centre stamp NO DOTS TO ‘i’ OF ‘British’. The stamps are all superb fresh unmounted mint with light hinge marks in the margin only. SG 38, 38d, 38e
