1895 Cape 2d bistre with overprint (typeset) reading downwards. COMPLETE UPPER HALF SHEET OF 120 comprising two panes of 60 with margins on all sides, showing plate number ‘7’ at top of each pane. The left pane showing constant varieties Broken ‘B’ in 'Bechuanaland.' [1], Dot in ‘u’ [12] and Sliced ‘ch’ [60]. The right pane with SG listed varieties INVERTED ‘u’ FOR ‘n’ [3], and NO DOTS TO ‘i’ OF 'British' [4]. Also Deformed ‘h’ [15], Broken ‘B’ [55] and Weak ‘s’ [58]. Some faults including unobtrusive creasing affects two columns and a fair amount of split perforations have been reinforced. Otherwise fine mint with many stamps remaining unmounted. A rare survivor.
