1894 (17th October), long, locally addressed envelope, bearing 34 examples of the 1893 1d carmine-red with overprint reading downwards. Comprising a BLOCK OF 14 (2x7), three horizontal STRIPS OF THREE, two horizontal PAIRS and seven single stamps. All tied by VRYBURG / B.B (17 OC / 94) single circle datestamps. All the stamps appear to emanate from two part right-hand panes and include two examples of the SG listed variety INVERTED ‘u’ FOR 2nd ‘n’ [Row 1/3]. Also showing several unlisted constant varieties: Closed ‘h’ in ‘Bechuanaland’ [Row 3/3], ‘i’ in ‘British almost omitted [Row 8/2] and Damaged ‘B’ in ‘British’ [Row 10/1].
