1904 (September), Zanzibar postal stationery wrapper (India QV Half Anna green wrapper overprinted ‘Zanzibar’). Addressed to ‘P Falk, Esq. / Fifth Street / Gwelo (Rhodesia) / South Africa’ and endorsed ‘via Beira’ at lower left. Backstamped with Beira (20 Sep) hexagonal datestamp struck in blue-green. The reverse also with a large fancy cachet ‘P. Falk / African Stamp Exchange’ struck in violet. Water stain at left, otherwise fine.
Note: the addressee is well known to Rhodesian Philatelists though it is unusual to see this address rather than the more usual P.O. Box 27, Gwelo. It is unclear if this item actually originated in Zanzibar.
