1874 Davis printing on thin transparent paper, perf 12½. 1d brownish red, a magnificent example with large to enormous margins. Fine used with target-type cancellations (probably ‘14’ of Pilgrims Rest). Rare so fine. SG 38a
Note: at first glance the poorer than usual perforating skills of Davis suggest this to be a pin-perf. However, unpunched perforations and a gauge of exactly 12½ confirms this to be a Davis production.
