1906 (8th October), LATE FEE PAID envelope addressed and sent registered to England. Bearing two KEVII 1d scarlet and two 6d black and brown-orange (SG 266a 274) all tied by REGISTERED / JOHANNESBURG (8 Oct) double circle datestamps with an additional strike on the reverse. With an ‘R’ in oval registration mark struck at upper left and a partial Birmingham (27 Oct) arrival backstamp. One 1d and one 6d with pre-affixing creases and some edge crumpling indicating the envelope contained something bulky. A scarce franking.
 
Note: The total paid was 1s.2d. indicating the envelope weighed up to 2 ounces (quadruple weight) requiring 4d postage (1d per half ounce) plus 4d registration fee and 6d paid the Late Fee surcharge.
