1892 (8th November), ‘Tamsen’ envelope addressed and sent registered to England endorsed at upper left ‘Register via Natal’. Bearing ‘Vurtheim’ 2d olive-bistre, 3d mauve and 6d pale dull blue (SG 178, 180a, 182) all tied by ‘17’ in barred ZAR triangles with proving NIJLSTROOM / Z.A.R. (8 Nov) single circle datestamp struck at right. With oval ‘R / Z.A.R.’ registration cachet additionally tying the 2d adhesive. London (12 Dec) arrival datestamp struck on the front. Backstamped with fine GEREGISTREERD / PRETORIA Z.A.R. (9 Nov) oval struck in bright rose-red, G.P.O. Natal (13 Nov) and Notting Hill (12 Dec) transit / arrival datestamps. The 6d with fault, otherwise fine.
 
Note: it appears the postage was overpaid as the rate at this date was 4d per half ounce to England whether sent via Natal or the Cape. The rate to Europe was 5d which may have been paid in error. The registration fee was 6d which was in effect from the 30th June 1886.
