| Forgeries Fournier forgeries of various issues from 1885 Vurtheims to 1900 overprint issue in close to issued colours with some on gummed paper. Comprising imperforate Vurtheims: 6d, 2/6, 5/- and 10/-; 1896 5/-; 1896-1897 ½d, 1d, 2d, 2½d, 3d (single and block of eight), 4d, 1/-, 2/6, and 5/-; 1900 6d ‘V.R.I.’ (perforated). Each stamp is either handstamped ‘FAUX’ in black or with ‘FAC-SIMILÉ’ applied in diagonal rows in blue on the reverse. All are affixed to a trimmed page to which they were affixed by the L’Union Philatélique de Genève in 1928. A scarce group. SG 182, 184, 212, 216-221, 223-224, 232 Forgeries. |
