| Forgeries Fournier forgeries of the 1896-97 and 1900 issues in close to issued colours with some on gummed paper. Comprising imperforate: ½d, 2½d, 3d, 4d, 6d and 2/6 2d, 6d, 2/6 and 5/-; perforated: 2d (‘used’) and 1/-. Also a 1900 6d overprinted ‘V.R.I.’ (perforated). Each stamp is either handstamped ‘FAUX’ in black or with ‘FAC-SIMILÉ’ applied in diagonal rows in blue on the reverse. All are affixed to part of a page to which they were affixed by the L’Union Philatélique de Genève in 1928. A scarce group. SG 212, 216, 218-224, 232 Forgeries. |
