| 1878 (January), envelope to England bearing 6d violet overprinted 'POSTAGE' (SG 83) tied by '15' in barred oval numeral canceller and shield type datestamp (Hart type L.1) with number '15' dated 16 January, struck at top right. Both these cancels were allocated to Bushman's River. With G.P.O. NATAL (17 Jan) backstamp and London 'PAID' (21 Feb) arrival datestamp struck in red on front. |
