AR426 Postage Dues 1990 (July) incoming airmail envelope sent from Louis Trichardt (10 July), South Africa. No postage was paid and the cover was taxed, receiving a bilingual cachet ‘REASON FOR SURCHARGE / POSTAGE INSUFFICIENT’ struck in purple. A pair of ‘25’ on 10c cerise surcharged postage dues (SG D33) was affixed and tied by a Union Avenue Harare (14 Aug) double circle datestamp. A few minor edge faults. Scarce commercial usage. £45

RA2195 1980 2nd – 3rd April, pair of printed illustrated covers for the Inaugural Flight Air Zimbabwe Salisbury to Gatwick and return, plus GB Airletter for the same return flight with violet rubber stamp cached. Very fine. £10
ZW1 1980 1st July, plain cover struck at left with violet cachet 'FIRST RESUMED FLIGHT JAN SMUTS / VICTORIA FALLS / JAN SMUTS JULY 1st 1980. Bearing 7c definitive cancelled with illustrated VICTORIA FALLS datestamp, addressed back to Jan Smuts. Unusual and not previously seen. SOLD
ZW87 1980 July, two long Airmail envelopes, the first dated 3rd July and cancelled with five impressions of the red 'RHODESIA' machine frank (12½c x four and 1c = 51c rate); the second dated 21st July, with four impressions of the same machine frank, but headed 'ZIMBABWE' (10c x three and 4c = 41c rate). Both to the same address in England, with arrival marks on front. Unusual. £12

ZW13 1991 16th October, PTC illustrated First Day cover for the CHOGM issue, further applied with the publicity label 'ELEPHANT HILLS' for the event. Sent registered Airmail to Johannesburg and cancelled 'MUTARE. Along with the PTC promotion pamphlet for the issue. Most unusual with the label not previously seen. SOLD

AR167 2002 (February), Postal Order for $2 with additional 3c and 5c adhesives affixed and pen cancelled. Issued at Hillside post office on the 4th February 2002 and apparently cashed at the same office on the 18th February 2002. The reverse endorsed “counterfoils seen & destroyed” and initialled. Uncommon. £40
